Kelshi : The Monsoon Paradise

Kelshi has to be one of the top 10 places in India to visit in Monsson ..atleast on my list it surely is .. crowd lovers , shopaholics and city lovers may differ my choice.

Kelshi is a place where not only destination but the journey itself is very beautiful . To reach Kelshi from pune you have to cross either Varadha Ghat or Tamhini Ghat , Both are poetically beautiful during monsoons.

There's nothing much you can do in kelshi , just sit back and relax .. a typical konkan village ..but below are the list of things you must not miss as a nature lover , photographer.

               1. Never miss a early morning walk in konkan , its when the village wakes up and adds subjects to silhouettes , a great light is almost always insured during these times.
               2. walk along the river swamp and then the beach , get ready for unexpected encounter with the natural beauty.
              3. The food
              4. Beautiful temples and religious vibe during the festive seasons ( Not something i prefer , but listening to folk songs early in the morning was soothing to the ears)
              5. Velas beach side road and turtle hatching  in Feb to March.
              6. Anjarle to Kelshi beach side road.
              7. Sunset point near harne.
              8. Harne light house.
              9. Watch out for the birds , kingfishers are found in abundance and plenty more.

Sin La Trek : Conquering yourself

“18023 ft sin la “, The number had my attention, Ajay kaka has just formed a WhatsApp group with all our trekking regulars calling for sin la trek in September. 18k ft would be the highest i have been while trekking but more than that it would be chance to reunite with the group on a Himalayan trek since our pin-parvati trek in 2015, good enough reason to confirm my participation. The other 20 for sure had the same reason. Himalayan pass at that height was surely not going to be a cake walk, next 4-5 months had to be spent on physical fitness. By August the list had come down from 20 to 12, we had approached Anit Sah to manage this trek for us. First and the most important task was to get the required permits, sin la is along the Kailash - mansarovar route, closer to Tibetan border hence we had to get a go ahead from the local authorities and ITBP. Pin Parvati Pass Trek : Conquering the heights

Since last year we sahyadri trek members have been planning to do a himalayan trek together, rather we all were waiting for opportunity to do a himalayan trek with Ajay kaka.                                     Ajay kaka has lead many expeditions in his 30-40 yrs trekking career  ( he has completed his basic and advance mountaineering course even before we were born ) , his stories always inspire us , its always a great privilege to trek with him and doing a himalayan trek with him is like attending the trekking institution , kaka came up with the idea of doing pin parvati pass trek which is not technical climb but difficult enough to challenge ourselves. Some of us were trekking outside sahyadri for the first time hence ajay kaka wisely selected this trek considering ease of access to manali in case of emergency situations.
